In 1997 Professor Bearn published a book on Nietzsche and Wittgenstein called Waking to Wonder: Wittgenstein's Existential Investigations (SUNY). In 2014, he published a book on making your life beautiful called Life Drawing: A Deleuzean Aesthetics of Existence (Fordham). He has published articles on Putnam, Davidson, Derrida, Cavell, Deleuze, Foucault and on the artists Arakawa and Madeline Gins. In the last few years he has published articles on Whitman and Cavell in Conversations, and two essays in the Journal of the Philosophy of Education, one on Wittgenstein's philosophy as a spiritual practice in the lineage of Hadot and Foucault and a more lyrical piece called "A Pedagogy of Things". He hopes to pull his recent thoughts together into a book moving beyond Wittgenstein in a Foucauldian direction. It might be called: Inklings and Algebra: A Prelude to Philosophical Thinking.
